iPhone 5S touch isn't working after water damage

Postby Cracked solder » Tue May 17, 2016 10:36 pm

I've taken it apart and cleaned out the board and connectors but the touch still doesn't work. It's unresponsive.

Is there a chip or something that needs replacing?

Go to 0:34 seconds on this youtube video, it will show the chips location, Which is bellow the A6 chip middle adjacent to edge of A6

You may find the chip has underfill, and will take more heat for longer period to remove it. The underfill can be removed with a small chisel iron tip. Stencils are out there,, but i've coated small chips and board bga pads with iron and reattached in the past with good results.

Touch IC chip is 343S0628
