LG E610 in sea water

Postby leozzito » Fri Nov 29, 2013 9:56 am

Hi... I'm just new to phone repair but my friend left me an LG E610 that dropped in the sea water last summer. The phone was totally dead, so we decided to give a try to fix it. He gave me the phone just yesterday, I opened the phone and removed the MB. It showed signs of oxidation on some component then I decided to clean it. I left it absorbed on IPA for a couple of hours; after I brushed the MB with toothbrush and dried it with compress air. After this, I left the MB on preheater for half an hour at 130°C. The phone is still dead.
Reading in other threads, I understand that some of you uses ultrasonic cleaner wash, but I have not the tools to do it in this way. Any advice on how to proceed?
Also, with sea water old of six months, I have to consider the MB for trash?

Thanks for your prompt reply... I will not spend time working on it... another thing: do you know where I can buy the MB? Just to have an idea and if it worth buying a new MB
