Profile of changing IC filter on mobile phones

Postby maiko21 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 8:25 pm

1) I am trying to repair a Nokia phone and after reading the service manual and cheking with multimeter i decide to change one EMI filter BGA. I find with google help that the temperature to hot air to get out the BGA is 400C at least. i bought a preheater for mobile phones and set it at 180C. i will need the preheater or with the hot air station and set to 400-420C it's ok?
2) After get out the EMI filter how i put it back again? i read that you clean the board from solder and than apply flux and with the iron and solder making the pads. The same to the BGA EMI filter and then with the hot air gun the BGA comes to the right position alone because of the lead. Any idea from someone how has experience on this?

400 is really high. You shouldn't have to go passed 230-235C.
