iPhone 5/5c/5s display

Postby Shuttleu » Wed Jul 16, 2014 7:16 pm

Hello

I have started doing glass only repairs on iphone screens, and coming to the iPhone 5 i saw this video (http://youtu.be/PbZwypAINYE?t=11m) which showed there is a film on the iPhone 5/5c/5s displays that can easily be removed.

I seperated a couple of displays and peeled this film off (which was very easy to remove) and tested them. They worked perfectly fine so I seperated the remaing 60 screens that I had and removed the film from all of the displays.
However now most of them dont repond very well to touch. Most of them are erratic and unpredictable.

So, what is this film, can I replace it and should the screens work without it?

Looks like the guy in the video has removed the polariser or membrane from the LCD screen. You will need to replace it. See here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cmdj-j2dM8
