Xbox One S No Power

Postby ultimate360 » Sun Jul 15, 2018 2:24 am

I have a virgin board (seal was intact) that refuses to turn on. I get nothing, no beep, light, or anything. The power supply is good. I started some basic troubleshooting by firstly looking over the board under a microscope to check for missing components and signs of liquid damage, and I found nothing. The board looks clean and fine. I then went ahead and checked all standby voltages, and everything is present and where it should be. Now I'm stuck on this.

Anyone know some things I should check with a dead virgin board that has good standby voltages?

Does the fan spin a little when you plug it in.

Nope, no fan spin. I also connected it to a bench PSU and see no current spike when plugging in or hitting the power button

Did you check the MOSFETs from this guide. viewtopic.php?f=85&t=6468&start=10. I had a similar issue and I found one of those shorted.

Could be the North bridge idk. Ive only worked on one Xbox. You could also try testing the components around the fets with a meter on all the boards and compare results to see if anything else isn't up to spec.

For it to come on it needs the 1.8V stanby to power the nand and the other stby voltages . There should not be any shorts on the mobo the nand chip should be ok too .
Also the crystal should be ok . no broken traces from nand to mobo cant think of anything else
