Hi,

I assume the liquid damage was through the vent and onto the fan?

First checks are remove the heatsink from APU and check the regulators to the right of the APU chip itself.

Check the small regulator ic's using diode test to ensure they are not short circuit.

Hope that helps

Hi,

The picture you have attached abaove I have added some pointers.

The chips that short when liquid goes in the top of the console are the ones you have highlighted.

On the amended picture, I have linked in blue the three you need to test.

The red pointers are the points on all three chips you need to test with a meter in diode mode. One way it will read high (1.xx) and the other low (.5ish), you will probably find one of the three reading short both ways, replace that , but when you remove the chip, test the same points with the chip off to ensure the main board is not also short, indicating a short somewhere else also.

The Yellow lines on the chip legs show were it will read a sort on any of these pins, so if you meter the bottom pins, all of those are shorted together, the top three apart from top left are shorted together, see picture.

I promise you that you will find one or all of them short !

Hope that helps

Glad to help - the Xbox One original main board uses the same regulators, so if you dont have a donor Xbox One S main board to use in the future, at least you could use them from an Xbox One original main board.

Glad I could help you.

Happy Days !
